Surfshark announces Surfshark Nexus

Surfshark launched a new network to offer new privacy and security capabilities to its VPN service.

Users can connect to the Nexus network to access various servers and then route them to their preferred IP address. Users can change servers every five minutes without interruptions.

These are the features offered by Nexus. However, spoilers: you will have to wait until you can access most of them.

Surfshark Nexus Overview – What is it?

VPNs typically use a traditional tunnel to connect the user's IP address with another server's assigned address. Because authorities and third parties cannot trace the internet activity to the actual address, this is a way to conceal the user's internet activity. However, the VPN keeps the two addresses connected throughout the VPN's use.

This means that third parties can still trace all user activity to the same IP address even though it isn't the user's.

The solution to this problem comes with Surfshark's Nexus network.

Surfshark users have already had access to the network, but there is a catch, at least for now. The network is only currently available in a limited format. Users can only access one feature. IP Rotator allows users to activate an automatic IP changing every 5-10 minutes without interruptions to their connection.

Additional features will be released in 2022 and 2023, according to Surfshark's official announcement.

New Features Coming

Surfshark also provided a list of features, beginning with the IP Randomizer, which hides browsing habits by assigning users a new IP address each time they visit a website.

You can also use Dynamic MultiHop to choose specific VPN exit and entry points.

Surfshark will also give you faster speeds as it only connects with the most performant entry servers (assuming Dynamic MultiHop has not been turned off).

Surfshark is busy. They launched the Data Vulnerability Thermometer earlier this month. This educational hub, they stated, “serves to be an all-in-one stop for learning cybercrime, assessing personal risks scores in data breaches, and evaluating potential criminal outcomes.” “

Should You Use Surfshark?

Surfshark is one of our top recommendations, primarily because it's one of the most affordable premium VPN options. However, it still offers many useful features that you won't get with other VPN services, like white-listing and Netflix access.

While some VPNs are more performant and offer more features than others, prices as low as 2.49 per month with unlimited connected devices are hard to pass by.
